Its important to assess what part of the wrist is injured (i.e bone, tendon, ligament) and figure out whether the activity you are performing is aggravating your condition. Tendon and ligaments have poor vascular supply and often can take a long time to heal. Its important to progress from immbilization with light functional activity, then to isometric exercises and then weights to avoid re-injury. TFCC/wrist sprains, ECU tendonitis, and Scapholunate injuries all requires avoidance of aggravating activity and proper support to help with healing.
